    Hello,

    Thanks for your question.

The information is processed by an organisation called Prescribing Services Ltd (PSL) under a data processing contract with the GP practices and the ICB using a system called Eclipse. However, PSL do not have access to the data or use this data. It is only transferred from the ICB and GP practices into the Eclipse system for analysis purposes.

You may find the section 'Sharing information with other organisations' from our fair processing notice useful.

    I hope that helps.

    Hello,

    Thanks for asking your question.

Section 251 is a specific part of the NHS Act 2006.

This page on the Health Research Authority about confidential patient information and regulations will help to explain: Confidential patient information - Health Research Authority (hra.nhs.uk)

You will also find links through to the NHS Act 2006 and the text for Section 251.

    I hope that helps.
