Workplace Wellbeing Activities:

Basildon & Brentwood Alliance is currently active with and committed to the Essex Local Delivery Pilot. We are devoted and passionate about tackling the inequalities that prevents its residents from enjoying the physical, social, and mental health benefits of an active lifestyle. As a health organisation, we are keen for our own workforce to benefit the same.

Over the last couple of years, we have enjoyed some opportunities to increase our activity levels and meet colleagues outside our normal work remit, colleagues we don't frequently see and meet new ones. As an Alliance, we have been able to meet and enjoy physical activities from walks to a staff sports day! The feedback has been fantastic and I think we can all agree this is something we want to do again.

We have a new survey to ask for your views on what activities you want to engage with. Do you have a skill that you can share with the team? Could you take the lead in an activity? Whether it is walking, archery, bike-riding or just some mindful breathing exercises you are interested in, would you prefer a link to the physical activity? Are you interested in volunteering, planting trees, beach cleaning, or gardening? Please fill out the survey below and give us your views!

Alliance Partners

We are also extending this invitation to the wider Alliance members. If you are an organisation on the third sector or public services, and you would like to join us in our walks or other activities, please email maria.medina5@nhs.net to find out more. Please also subscribe to this page to get our latest newsletters and up to date information.

Who are we?

The Essex Local Delivery Pilot (LDP) is an initiative, led by Active Essex, to build healthier, more active communities across the county. An active lifestyle creates huge benefits for the health and well-being of individuals and families, as well as making local communities more vibrant, connected, and resilient.

Working with system partners across primary care networks, statutory bodies, community services, and the third sector to improve the health systems ability to tackle physical inactivity and improve the longer-term health of patients through physical activity interventions. We can provide support in terms of resources, funding and physical packs. We link up with various partners to increase activity, or decrease inactivity, and support work around falls prevention and general well-being.

Across the service projects we are also looking to support well-being in work spaces and organisations, having an opportunity to create physical activities and well-being initiatives. Whether these are in surgeries, offices or open spaces.

Maria Medina, working at Basildon and Brentwood Alliance, leads on some of our local LDP projects and can assist you set up health activities and projects in the workplace. Please see below for contact.
