Across Mid and South Essex ICS, several VCSEs are delivering Wellbeing Hubs, 18-25s, and Positive Pathways services, resulting in a fragmented approach with inconsistent service offers, poorer outcomes, and inequitable access for patients.
To address this, MSE ICB plans to re-procure these services to establish a whole-system approach that ensures consistency, equity and improved patient experience.
How are we going to do this?
The proposed approach for the procurement of these services is a PDPS (Provider Dynamic Purchasing System) Framework.
This method is a way the NHS buys services from different providers over time. Think of the PDPS as a list of approved providers (such as charities, community groups, or healthcare organisations) that can offer mental health services to patients.
The goal is to select the best provider to deliver high-quality care to patients.
What Does This Mean for Patients?
Provides an opportunity for Patient Feedback –to provide input into the development of the service specification.
Patients Benefit from More Choices & Better Service - it encourages better quality services. This means patients can access the right support, tailored to their needs.
Services available are more flexible, high-quality, and focused on patients’ needs.
