Where can I find my local NHS Dentist?
We work to signpost families to local NHS dentists (Find a dentist - NHS (www.nhs.uk) who are accepting patients. However, we cannot guarantee a place at the practice as this is decided independently by the dental practices.
What resources can family’s access from the Early Years Oral Health Team?
We deliver Oral Health Information and free oral health packages including fluoridated toothpaste, toothbrushes, and educative leaflets.
How can I sign-up to attend a workshop/event?
Please email us at mseicb-s.thurrockoralhealth@nhs.net letting us know what you wish to attend and we can give you the relevant information.
Where are Oral Health Workshops Held?
We are currently working out of Thurrock Family Hubs as a base for Oral Health Workshops. If you are interested in finding out where the next workshop will be, please see our upcoming events listed above.
Should I come to an Oral Health Workshop even if my child does not have teeth yet?
Our oral health workshops are aimed at birth to school year three and much of the information is relevant to those less than one (including bottle-feeding and diet). We also give advice on oral health practices to start once the first tooth has arrived.
Who can attend Oral Health Training?
Oral Health training is different from our workshops held at the Family Hubs which are geared towards families. Training sessions are open to any professional or volunteer within Thurrock. The training is primarily geared to those who work with the Early Years. If you are interested in attending a training session, feel free to send us an email on: mseicb-s.thurrockoralhealth@nhs.net
What is the benefit from attending Oral Health Training?
As well as refreshed oral health knowledge, professionals who work within a recognised organisation or will have access to free Toothbrushing packages that they can give to families with who may not be able to easily access toothbrushing resources.
