Together in Action

Who are we?

The Basildon and Brentwood alliance working closely together with local partners and Active Essex come together as one to support the increase of activity for the residents of the Alliance.

the Alliance met in October 2022 and recognised that all services across health, and social care, and voluntary sectors were stretched, could work more efficiently together and there were many common areas that we could work as joined priorities.
*Reducing health Inequalities with a focus on the wider determinants of health
*Developing a Live Well Strategy
*Developing Integrated Neighbourhood Teams
*Distributed Leadership
*Identifying areas where we can work together
*Stabilising Primary Care
*Need to add Transfer of Care Hubs

There were commonalities in looking at what strategically works in health as preventative, long-lasting solutions for patients to improve their health increase their physical activity, and thus reducing the need for accessing primary care, overall reducing pressure with cost-efficient outcomes.

Active Essex

Local Delivery Pilot

The Essex Local Delivery Pilot (LDP) is an initiative, led by Active Essex, to build healthier, more active communities across the county. An active lifestyle creates huge benefits for the health and wellbeing of individuals and families, as well as making local communities more vibrant, connected, and resilient.

What do we do?

Working with system partners across primary care networks, statuary bodies, community services, and the third sector to improve the health system’s ability to tackle physical inactivity and improve the longer-term health of patients through physical activity interventions

We can provide support in terms of resources, funding, physical packs, linking up with various partners to increase activity, or decrease inactivity, and support work around fall prevention and general wellbeing.

Across the service projects we are also looking to support wellbeing in work spaces, and organizations, having an opportunity to create physical activities and wellbeing initiatives.

Whether these are in surgeries Active Practice offices or open spaces Active Alliance
