  • Share I am aware of the building work on Thurrock Hospital site to create an Integrated Medical Centre. It would be could to know, when is the expected completion and commissioning taking place and what services will be available. Therefore if not already in progress I think it would be beneficial to consult with some members of the public and service users before works are completed. I know that architects/designers often get caught up in their own visualisation of what they feel looks good and lose sight of what is best for the end user. In my experience flooring, lighting and decor choices can be poor, not taking into consideration those with poor eyesight, also waiting room seating is often not fit for purpose and uncomfortable, not easily cleaned. Again I would suggest it would be helpful to have service user input in the decoration and furniture choices before these are purchased. Are you able to confirm service users have or will be consulted on these matters. on Facebook Share I am aware of the building work on Thurrock Hospital site to create an Integrated Medical Centre. The work on the Thurrock Community Hospital site is to create a Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC). The work is well developed and the centre is expected to open in July/Aug 25. The services to be provided are; MRI, CT, X Ray, Ultrasound, Cardiology tests, respiratory tests, dermasope and phlebotomy. Mid & South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is leading the development and has various engagement mechanisms to receive feedback on the planned centre. This includes ensuring the interior design and the experience of patients is central to the operation of the centre.
