What is Involvement?
We want to put people affected by stroke at the heart of everything we do.
To achieve this, we are creating the Mid and South Essex Stroke Voices group which will give people affected by stroke opportunities to contribute to the work for the health and care teams in the area.
When we say involvement we mean:
Doing things with people with lived experience, rather than to or for them.
This means stroke survivors and carers have a voice in conversations that affect them.
They are experts.
Involvement gives people affected by stroke a say in decision making and involves them in activities which directly influence our work.
Role Summary
Be a source of local knowledge, particularly on issues concerning stroke services, stroke provisions and health care
Share your experience with local stroke services
Feedback on current ways of working
Be part of local quality Improvement work and reviews to ensure the best care is provided to stroke survivors and families in the area.
Discuss and help make decisions about locally-based projects
Bring new ideas and ways of working based on your experience.
