Help us make getting to appointments easier
Getting to your hospital or clinic appointment should be straightforward. But we know that's not always the case in our diverse region.
Mid and South Essex covers cities, market towns, villages, coastline and countryside. Whilst this variety makes our area special, it can also make travelling to medical facilities challenging - especially if you rely on public transport.
Around 2% of hospital appointments are missed because people cannot get there. We want to change this.
Your experience matters
We're asking patients across Mid and South Essex to share their travel experiences. Whether your journey is easy or difficult, we want to hear from you.
Your feedback will help us work with transport providers, local councils and other partners to improve services for everyone.
What the survey covers
The survey takes about 5 minutes and asks about:
How you usually travel to appointments
Any challenges you face getting there
What would make your journey easier
Your suggestions for improvements
Who can take part
Anyone who has travelled to a hospital or clinic in Mid and South Essex for an appointment. This includes:
Patients who drive themselves
People who use public transport
Those who rely on family and friends
Users of patient transport services
Anyone who has struggled to get to appointments
How we'll use your feedback
Your responses will help us:
Improve community transport in Brentwood, Thurrock and Basildon to reduce missed appointments caused by travel poverty
Identify other areas where travel poverty affects access to hospitals and medical services
Update Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust's travel plan
Work with transport providers and local councils to enhance services
Develop better information about travel options for patients
Privacy and your data
We take your privacy seriously. Your responses are confidential and will only be used to improve travel services. We will not share your personal details with anyone outside NHS Mid and South Essex without your permission.
